What happens when writing decays? As material as time is a gentle experiment around decomposition. Poems were etched directly onto tree leaves and left to wane. Each day, the ensemble changes, the colors and texture transform, and each poem experiences a unique deterioration process. Words shade, fibers dry out, fragments break off. New narratives emerge. The process of each leaf is accompanied by an essayistic audio piece that draws connections between particular features of the plant species and my memories.

 

The process results in an installation, texts, audio, and a photographic series.
